A lot goes into purchasing a piece of fine jewelry, and we’re here to make the process as simple as we can. We’ve assembled a list of questions we hear most often, but if you need more answers, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Though we do quite a few engagement rings and wedding bands, we are here to help our clients celebrate any occasion, whether with a sweet 16 pearl necklace, birthday diamond studs, a ruby and emerald Christmas masterpiece, replacing the husband’s lost wedding band for the fifth time, or a little something just because. We also create accessible fashion jewelry inspired by current trends and simple enough to make great additions to the everyday staples in your wardrobe. Additionally, we’ll work with an existing piece or stone to restore or modernize a family heirloom.
No worries! Whether you’re new to the whole diamond thing or just need a refresher, our job is to make sure you’re 100% confident in your decision throughout the process. We’ll start with a chat getting to know you and your loved one, going over diamond essentials, discussing your thoughts on the details of the project, and reviewing our process, timelines, your budget requirements, and delivery options. Everyone’s wants are unique, and making sure we meet yours to the T is our highest priority.
Everything we create is made to order, meant to be worn for a lifetime and cherished for generations. During the design process, Natalie will discuss the expected ship date with you while taking any rush situations into account. In order to maintain the highest quality standards, most items are finished within 1- 4 weeks of design approval and shipped as soon as completed. In the case of an extremely intricate design or a high-volume time of year, projects may require additional production time.
We have yet to miss even the shortest of deadlines, so don’t be afraid to reach out regardless of your time constraints.
The vast majority of what we do is remote consultation and collaboration. Our breadth of diamond options, bespoke experience, and purchase flexibility attract clients around the world, so your distance is by no means the exception. We take pride that, regardless of your location, your experience with us will retain all the hallmarks of our business: frequent and clear communication that fosters informed decisions and impeccable finished products. Our partners at FedEx & Brinks make sure all our domestic and international packages are delivered securely and on time.
To maintain a traditional brick-and-mortar store and setting inventory requires a tremendous amount of overhead. That cost is ultimately passed on to the customer and covered through inflated margins. Regardless of how many styles we maintained, we realized everyone wanted at least one thing altered here or there to make the piece unique to them. With that in mind, we decided to focus solely on custom design and opted for the more industry traditional, one-on-one diamond office and remote collaboration in order to drastically reduce our expenditures and gift those savings to our clients.
We proudly serve our military service members regardless of their station (We’ve even shipped rings out to Afghanistan – what a story!) and ship USPS to all APO/FPO addresses. As with all our packages, your shipment is insured from the moment it leaves our door until it arrives at yours. Because APO/FPOs are considered domestic, no taxes or duties are due on orders shipped to them. However, if an order is shipped directly to an international base rather than through the APO/FPO system, taxes and duties would be applied.
We happily work with customers around the world and ship via insured FedEx International Priority or Brinks Secured Logistics. Shipping times vary depending on the destination country. All international orders are fully insured during transit and may be subject to import/customs duties, VAT, and other taxes imposed by the destination country. These are government dictated, will be collected locally, and may need to be paid before your package will be released to you.
All pieces under $50,000.00 are fully insured during transit and shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight delivery. There are no identifying marks on our shipments and FedEx employees have no knowledge of the contents of our packages. Any item or items over $50,000.00 will be fully insured during transit and sent with Brink’s Armoured Car services. Brinks shipments will require additional delivery logistics. For security purposes we do not ship over the weekend except for in extenuating circumstances.
We want to be 100% sure your valuable package arrives to you safely. Because of this all FedEx shipments will require an adult signature upon delivery. In order to avoid missing the doorbell or the driver stopping by while you’re out running errands, we suggest shipping to a business address. All items are fully insured during transit until marked as “delivered”.
If it looks as though the package has been tampered with or damaged in some way please do not accept receipt of the package and get in touch with us as soon as possible. We will advise you of next steps.
We will be in touch as soon as your piece is ready and, if you’re in the local area, you are welcome to set a time to come pick it up in person.
No one ever intends to lose their most precious pieces, but making sure you have insurance for those oh no moments can help put your mind at ease when you wear them for a night out or leave them at home when you head out of town. There are two companies we recommend most often:
— Jewelers Mutual Insurance (http://www.perfectcircleinsurance.com/) is the gold standard in the business for stand-alone jewelry insurance. Insuring your pieces separately from your homeowners (many people’s initial choice) means you don’t risk increasing your home’s premiums in the case of loss, theft, or damage to your jewelry. Jewelers Mutual also allows you to choose who you’d like to work with to create your replacement piece rather than dictating a specific company.
— Chubb, in our experience, has been one of the easiest and most forgiving insurers to work with when replacing cherished heirlooms. Though their premiums tend to be higher than average and they require that you carry other forms of insurance with them in order to opt into their jewelry coverage, it all seems worth it to make the claims process as painless as possible.
Though we don't offer appraisals, we do provide you a detailed invoice. Many insurance companies find this and the GIA certificates more than enough to open or add an item to a jewelry policy. We still recommend that you have the piece appraised by an independent appraiser for your own records and make sure to update the appraisal every 5 years to keep policies current and avoid disputes over inflation and market trends.
Natalie always says it was love at first sight when she saw Dan in his dress whites for the first time. Sophomores at Rice University, Daniel was a working his way through NROTC when Natalie moved into the dorm next door and by the time graduation and the subsequent proposal rolled around was a newly minted 2nd Lieutenant Marine Corps Officer headed out to the Pacific. The first four years of their marriage included a station in Okinawa, Japan, months of training at Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii, an Afghanistan deployment, and Natalie getting marooned in New Zealand with the US Air Force (another good story). Our USMC family is one we will never forget.
LDC was one of the many great things to come from their military experience. On Okinawa, Natalie realized there was a dearth of trustworthy, quality diamond/ fine jewelry options available to service members and their families while stationed abroad. Ever since, she has made it her mission to serve those who serve our country regardless of their location, situation, or budget.
An immense thank you to our service member, military family, veteran and first responder clients – it’s an honor to serve you.
We are committed to the highest level of ethical and responsible business practices. All of our goods are conflict-free in full compliance with the Kimberley Process. We are proud to say all our pieces are fully manufactured in the USA and by working with us you support a veteran-owned small business.
